초록

Soybean is widely used as a protein source both for humans and domesticated animals. Soybean contains several biologically active components (e.g.isoflavones, saponins, phytic acids, phytosterols, phenolic acids,). Isoflavones are found in soybeans in large amounts. The beneficial effects of isoflavones are reduction on risk of several types of cancer, of cardiovascular disease, of osteoporosis, and attenuation of menopause symptoms. Isoflavone content and composition of soybean seeds is very different according to the morphological part of the seed and genotypes and the environment conditions during seed development. Isoflavones are a group of secondary metabolites produced in plants. They are synthesized as part of the phenylpropanoid pathway. Therefore, breeding of high isoflavone soybean line by classical and molecular breeding techniques and cultivation methods for high isoflavone content are needed.

The present study aims to improve new soybean lines with high isoflavone content and to investigate cultivation method of increasing isoflavone content. Also, purpose of this research is to identify various genetic markers that are linked to loci conditioning variation in isoflavone production and to investigate the structure and expression of the IFS genes in various soybean cultivars.
